Chicago Board of Trade
The visitor’s center at the Chicago Board of Trade is a great place for your students to see the heart of the agricultural and financial world. The visitor’s center was set up solely for the purpose of education. Here you can view “A Window on Futures”, the award winning film of the Chicago Board of Trade, and get a great explanation of the markets. With so much to learn about, the Chicago Board of Trade has become one of the most visited financial institutions in Chicago.

Shedd Aquarium
Opened in 1929, the Shedd Aquarium is one of the oldest aquariums in the world. Known as “The World’s Aquarium”, it's home to 8,000 aquatic animals. While visiting the museum, your students can experience an entire year of Amazon River seasons in the “Amazon Risings” exhibit. Also, they can learn about the hundreds of species that survive on the waters of a reef in the “Caribbean Reef” exhibit. If you are into the larger mammals, you can observe Beluga whales in the “Oceanarium”.

Museum of Science and Industry
Come see one of the most visited museums in the world, the Museum of Science and Industry. At the museum, your students will be introduced to many concepts of science, encouraged to make scientific observations, develop problem solving skills, experience hands on interactive exhibits, and they will also be introduced to technology to be used as a tool for learning. After a visit to the Museum of Science and Industry, your students will have an entirely new attitude towards learning.

Chicago Federal Reserve
Bring your students to the Chicago Federal Reserve and let them learn how the CFR helps serve the nation’s central bank, the Federal Reserve System. The role of the Federal Reserve System is to support a strong economy and a stable financial system. At the Chicago Federal Reserve, your students can learn how the reserve banks participate in formulating the national monetary policy, supervise and regulate banks and holding companies, provide financial services to banks and the U.S. Government, and more.

Hancock Observatory
Be sure to stop and see the most breathtaking site in Chicago. On a clear day, the Hancock Observatory offers a beautiful view that carries on for 80 miles and four states. This observatory, located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center, offers one of the most amazing views you will ever see. From the open-air observatory, you can peer through a telescope to take in all of the beauty. Do not forget your camera so you can take plenty of pictures and take this wonderful view home with you.

Lincoln Park Zoo
Take advantage of this opportunity to see one of the oldest zoological gardens in the country. Established in 1868, Lincoln Park Zoo is the nation's most historic zoo and is visited by more than three million people each year. As always, Lincoln Park Zoo prides itself on providing all of this learning and excitement at a very affordable price, free. As a matter of fact, Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the last major cultural institutions in the country that still has free admission.

Chicago History Museum
Enjoy a visit to Chicago’s History Museum where you can learn about their collection of materials representing the multicultural history of Chicago. Your students will be educated on the history of Chicago through exhibitions, research collections, programs, and publications. At the Chicago History Museum, you can examine the relics of Lincoln’s assassination, learn about Al Capone’s days in Chicago, and examine an original copy of the thirteenth amendment abolishing slavery, signed by Lincoln.

Jane Adams Hull House Museum
The Jane Adams Hull House Museum is recognized internationally as a symbol of multicultural understanding, educational innovation, urban research, and quite a bit more. This house has been fully restored to look exactly as it did in the 1800’s. They even have many original furnishings, paintings, and photographs of the early days of Hull House. Next door to the Hull House you can enjoy film presentations that will enlighten your minds on the history of the settlement and the neighborhood.

Field Museum
This world-renowned museum offers a fabulous experience that people of all ages can enjoy. Home to an Ancient Egyptian tomb, and the largest and most complete T-Rex ever found, the Field Museum offers an educational experience you and your students will never forget. Before stopping at the Field Museum, be sure to reload your camera so you do not miss out on pictures of the museum’s incredible view of the Chicago skyline, and Lake Michigan.
