No Cell Phones While Driving
Published at: 07:42:31 AM
There's a new Federal Regulation that prohibits the use of cell phones by bus drivers while operating their vehicles. While I think we can all agree that this is a regulation that should have been in place years ago, it does create some inconveniences. If your group wants to be picked up from an attraction earlier, later, or at a different location than it shows on the itinerary and your driver is already in route when you call, he / she will have to find a place to legally pull over and park before returning the call. We ask that you please be patient and understanding when trying to contact your driver and only contact him / her if it is absolutely necessary. We suggest that rather than call to be picked up early, walk to the next attraction if possible and then call and leave a voice mail notifying the driver of the new pickup time and location.

The Petersen House is a three story red brick townhouse located across the street from Ford’s Theatre. After President Lincoln was shot, he was carried to the Petersen House where he was tended to until he died. Last September the National Park Service began a rehabilitation project to repair the exterior and interior of the Petersen House. Work includes the installation of a new climate management system and repairs to the historic windows, castings, doors and shutters. The National Park Service hopes the Petersen House will again be open to visitors by the end of the summer of 2011.
